Hexham East Regeneration Project – Number 28@The Gatehouse

HCP’s community development project is known as Number 28@The Gatehouse and grew out of the Hexham East Regeneration project. For nearly eight years it was based at Number 28 Derwent Road in Hexham East housing estate, then in November 2016 it moved to the Gatehouse Open Learning Centre on Wanless Lane, Hexham, at the entrance to Hexham Middle School.

The project works in close partnership with local organisations such as Hexham Youth Initiative, Sure Start Children’s Centre, Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service and West Northumberland Food Bank, and supports Hexham East Residents’ Association.

Activities and events for families are organised during school holidays, plus introductory training courses and health related activities for all ages and sections of the local community.
