Hexham Community Partnership is a community-based, community-owned and community-led organisation. Established in 2006, it is managed by a Board of Directors and employs a small staff team. Many of the Partnership’s activities are supported by a willing army of volunteers.

Our Vision is to be influential, respected and sustainable. Working closely with many others, we strive to make a positive contribution to community development and, with our social enterprise projects, become less reliant on grant income.

Our Mission is:

  • The promotion and support of economic and employment activity
  • The provision, maintenance and improvement of public and recreational amenities and sites of historical or architectural importance
  • Facilitation of the improvement of transport services
  • Promotion and support of environmental sustainability
  • Other activities deemed to be of a regenerative or charitable nature and of benefit to the community of Hexham and surrounding  area

Our Strategy is to work together to unlock potential for our town and surrounding communities in the Tyne Valley. Working in partnership with community organisations, local businesses and the town and county councils, we aim to maximise benefits for our local community and visitors alike.
During the last ten years the Partnership has had many achievements.

Directors
The Partnership is run by a Board of twenty-nine volunteer Directors, all of whom are local residents drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many are active in community and voluntary organisations within the town, ensuring the views of residents and local groups are represented.  Our Directors are unpaid volunteers and give up significant amounts of time to help support the staff and to give direction and advice. Directors are elected at the AGM, usually held in July.

Membership

Membership is free of charge and open to everyone over the age of 16 who shares our mission. Members will be kept up to date with our activity, we will engage with you in all that we do and will listen to your hopes and aspirations for the town. Members will be invited to at least two meetings each year, at which we will ask you to review the Partnership’s strategy. If you would like to apply, please complete the attached form.

We welcome volunteers to join us for long or short periods. You can phone us on 01434 622 796 to talk about Partnership volunteering or 01434 601 155 to volunteer at the Forum Cinema or register here so that we can tell you about opportunities as they arise.
