Hexham Community Partnership is a community-based, community-owned and community-led organisation. Established in 2006, it is managed by a Board of Directors and employs a small staff team. Many of the Partnership’s activities are supported by a willing army of volunteers.

Values, Vision, Strategy
In all our activities we are committed to being inclusive, accountable and enterprising.

Our Vision is to be influential, respected and sustainable. Working closely with many others, we strive to make a positive contribution to community development and, with our social enterprise projects, become less reliant on grant income.

Our Strategy is to work together to unlock potential for our town and surrounding communities in the Tyne Valley. Working in partnership with community organisations, local businesses and the town and county councils, we aim to maximise benefits for our local community and visitors alike.
During the last ten years the Partnership has had many achievements.

Directors
The Partnership is run by a Board of twenty-nine volunteer Directors, all of whom are local residents drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many are active in community and voluntary organisations within the town, ensuring the views of residents and local groups are represented.  Our Directors are unpaid volunteers and give up significant amounts of time to help support the staff and to give direction and advice. Directors are elected at the AGM, usually held in July, and membership is open to anyone with an interest in the town.

Acting Chair – David Ratcliff
Vice-Chair – Cllr Cath Homer
supported by 27 members representing the town and its organisations

We currently  have vacancies for Board members including a Chairperson – if you are interested in the possibility of joining the Board or would like more information, please contact us.

Staff
The Partnership employs four members of staff based at the Partnership main office: Marion Schooler – Partnership Manager,  Lorraine Reay – Events Coordinator and Office Manager, Jude Garrow Compson – Communications and Tourism Officer, Bettina Newton – Administrator.

It also employs one member of staff employed at the Hexham East Regeneration Office at Number 28 at The Gatehouse: Claire Heaviside – Hexham East Regeneration Officer.

Volunteers
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with your community whether you have recently retired and want to share your skills and experience, or are hoping to get back into work and gain useful experience as a volunteer. From time to time we recruit volunteer ushers for the Forum Cinema and to help with town events.

We welcome volunteers to join us for long or short periods. You can phone us on 01434 622 796 to talk about Partnership volunteering or 01434 601 155 to volunteer at the Forum Cinema or register here so that we can tell you about opportunities as they arise.
