The Forum Cinema was taken over by the Hexham Community Partnership in March 2007 and is operated as a commercial cinema with profits being retained within the community and supporting the activities of the Partnership.
The Forum Cinema goes DIGITAL
2011 has been an exciting year for the cinema. In May a state of the art digital projector was purchased thanks to the generosity of the local community, County Councillors Derek Kennedy, Terry Robson and Ingrid Whale and a funding made available as part of the Market Town Welcome programme through the Rural Development Programme for England which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union and is managed by One NorthEast in the North East region.
What has this meant for the cinema?
A fantastic quality of picture and a wider range of titles available to us
3D screenings of favourites such as Harry Potter and some more unusual films
Live satellite screenings from the Bolshoi Ballet, the National Theatre and more
