24th September - Everything is now in place for a rich experience in this year's Festival! The theme for 2010 is “Fantastic Fables” in which we celebrate the full range of Music and Arts that makes this festival unique in the north east. We are marking centenary anniversaries of the births of Romantic composers Chopin, Schumann and Samuel Barber. Evva Mizerska's cello recital includes both the Chopin and Barber Sonatas. You must see Carolyn Mendelsohn's evocative exhibition at the Forum Cinema. She produced the mesmeric Face film/sound installation in 2008, and her portraits of local independent shopkeepers is equally compelling. For more information follow this link |
