Market Town Welcome Programme - Hexham
Hexham and Morpeth were the last towns in Northumberland to embark upon the Market Town Welcome programme to boost their visitor economy and attract more investment into the towns. The planning process was carried out by a wide range of organisations and individuals from around the town supprted by Miller Research Associates and Northumberland Tourism.
The updated version of the plan is now available for download.
The Market Town Welcome group which includes members from various interested groups and businesses in and aroud the town meets regularly to review, update and implement the plan.

Activities that have taken place and opportunities crreated as a result of the programme have included:
Promotional film - produced to encourage coach passengers to explore a little more of the town - click here to see the Visit Hexham video! (opens in a new window)
Car Park Signs - local event organisers are invoted to contact Hexham Community Partnership if they would like to use the 3 signs in the Wentworth Car Park to display thier banners promoting free events open to the general public in Hexham - a small charge may be made for regular use of these locations.
Market Stalls - the Partnership has purchased 15 red and white market stalls. These are used at our town centre events and are also available for hire to other businesses or organisations - subject to availability.
Discover Hexham leaflet. 40,000 leaflets have been produced in Spring 2011 to promote Hexham elasewhwere in the region and attractvisitors to come and enjoy our lovely town. These leaflets have been produced with the support of Northumberland County Council and Hexham Town Council and 6 local businesses who have offered special deals and discounts.
